Legislation to Preserve and Protect History
As historic monuments around the Country have been removed and destroyed, Alabama drafted a Bill to protect these valuable pieces of history. It is known as the Alabama Monuments Bill SB60. It creates a memorial preservation act to prohibit the disturbance of significant memorabilia from our Nation’s history. It was signed into legislation by the Governor of Alabama on May 24, 2017.
Partners for Arizona’s True History aka PATH, has drafted a similar Bill for Arizona, using Alabama SB60 as a template. It is officially named The Arizona Memorial Preservation Act of 2018.
The Arizona Memorial Preservation Act of 2018 has been distributed to several Arizona Legislators who have supported HB2498 and/or shown backing for the preservation of ALL historical memorabilia, including monuments, and follow-up with this endeavor continues. PATH would greatly appreciate any support for this cause.
